The church of St Lawrence the Martyr lies a short distance from Fountains Abbey and is home to the earliest example of our work. Of very simple design, this little organ was built by Stephen Frankland single-handedly and is sited at the west end of this 'T' shaped church, occupying a former elevated pew. The casework was painted in the same style as the box pews. However, these have been been recently repainted in a different shade of brown, somewhat spoiling the original effect.
